Marc Dann Biography
Marc Dann is one of the most popular and richest Lawyer who was born on March 12, 1962 in Evanston, United States. Ryan was elected to the Ohio State Senate in 2002. Dann convinced the Democratic caucus of the Senate to appoint Ryan to complete Ryan’s term. He won the election to a full term in 2004. The Ohio Supreme Court reprimanded him in 2004 for not properly preparing for a 2002 case regarding alimony.
Dann announced his candidacy for Attorney General of Ohio on November 14, 2005, saying he would use the office to both help local police and prosecutors deal with street crime and to actively and aggressively pursue white collar criminals.
As of October 18, 2006, the Cafaro family had contributed $30,500 to Dann’s campaign for attorney general, in addition to the $26,000 they had donated to his state Senate campaigns. Of that money, $10,000 came from J. J. Cafaro. Dann defended his recommendation of Capri Cafaro by saying he believed she was the only qualified candidate to replace him.
Dann ran for the Ohio State Senate in the then-Trumbull and Geauga county districts. He was third in the party primaries behind eventual winner Tim Ryan, and a local trustee. Dan was a member of Liberty Local School District’s board of education from 2001 to 2002.
Some had questioned Dann about his support for Capri Cafaro’s unsuccessful bid to fill Dann’s unfinished term in the state Senate. Cafaro, the Cafaro shopping mall empire’s heir, had never been elected to office. Cafaro’s father J. J. Cafaro had pleaded guilty to bribing Jim Traficant in 2001 to help him push legislation to benefit his aircraft-equipment business. Capri was in her 20s when she was the president of the airline company. However, she was not accused of any wrongdoing. Capri also testified that she had not conspired to help Traficant in a similar trial.
In a television advertisement, the Montgomery campaign attacked Dann for the above-mentioned 2004 reprimand and for defending a man convicted of showing nude pictures to children. Dann responded to the latter attack by saying he was simply doing his job as an attorney.
